Services

Ready to develop your MVP and get a step closer to the upscaling of your vision?

You have a brilliant idea for a sustainable product. But turning that idea into something you can actually sell? That’s where it gets complicated.

You need to develop your first commercializable product, but you’re facing questions about sustainable processes, cost, and what’s actually feasible at your current scale. You need solutions for quality control and analysis of your product that fit your budget.

You’re also navigating chemical safety, chemical regulation in Europe, and patenting strategies: you need to understand these aspects well enough to convince investors, start your commercialization, or decide whether to pivot.

And maybe you need someone who can actually work in the lab to accelerate your project, not just advise from the sidelines.

That’s exactly what I help you figure out. I provide state-of-the-art solutions to develop your first product together, with an emphasis on what’s sustainable, cost-effective, and realistic for where you are right now. I bring practical labwork expertise when you need it, basic expertise in the regulatory and IP landscape, and a network with dedicated expert consultants in those fields for when you need to go deeper.

What does this actually look like in practice?

When you’re starting out, you probably don’t know what already exists in your space – what’s been tried, what’s been patented, who your competitors are. I conduct literature searches of scientific articles and patents to give you a broad idea of the existing technical knowledge for developing your product, an understanding of your competitors’ scientific strategy, and a clear picture of your Intellectual Property space.

From there, you need a roadmap. I help you develop strategies for product development and protection (patenting), including a preliminary cost estimation and suggestions for services that can be subcontracted.

As you move into actual product development, problems come up. Formulas don’t work as expected. Ingredients behave differently than you thought. Regulations seem unclear. I provide follow-up through regular meetings or project-based work, troubleshooting and solving technical issues as they arise.

If lab work is involved, I handle sourcing ingredients, developing or searching for adequate testing methods, creating formulas and fabrication protocols, and reproducibility testing.

And because you need your product to be safe, reliable, and ready for the market, I search for information about certification and current regulation to ensure you can build trust with your customers.

Where my expertise helps most:

From my previous experience, I can help you if you’re working with:

Lignocellulosic materials, polymers and colloids – films, aerogels, gels, suspensions, emulsions, soft matter, colloidal suspensions, nanofibers. Surface functionalisation, crystallographic structure, thermal, chemical, mechanical and rheological properties. Selection of appropriate materials in line with the applications you’re looking for, characterization, sample preparation, sourcing (at small scale).

What my clients say

"

“Emilie supports our selection of optimal polymer recipes for electrospinning, drawing on her expertise in polymer chemistry and biopolymers. She is highly collaborative and proactively engages in hands-on work and has strong academic research and literature analysis capabilities.”

Felix Sundblad, CTO and co-founder at Acouspin

“Emilie was a product developer at Paahtu and played a key role in moving our product forward. She developed a new, more practical way of producing the log, while also ensuring that the ingredients could be fully bio-based, which was an important step for us.

She was responsible for sourcing raw materials and successfully mapped out where and how we could obtain our raw materials. Emilie also supported us in investor meetings, helping with preparation and discussions when needed.

She naturally looked for ways to add more value to the company, whether by using her connections to create collaboration opportunities with other companies or by bringing in new ideas and user connections. In addition, she handled HR responsibilities during her time with us, helping make sure everyone was aligned, motivated, and comfortable within the team.

I really enjoyed working with Emilie!”

Bahez Karim, CEO of Paahtu Oy

“It was a pleasure to collaborate with Emilie. In her role, she demonstrated strong expertise in the research and development of advanced nanofiber materials, with a specific focus on formulating novel recipes.

Emilie is working in a very methodical and goal-oriented way. She effectively bridges theoretical research and practical application. At Acouspin she quickly learned how to operate the electrospinning to directly translate material formulations into tangible results.

Combined with her consistent reliability and collegial nature, these qualities make her a highly competent professional and a valuable asset to any team.”

Maximilian LeRoux, CEO at Acouspin
